Amelia Cuni - To sing a

Voice

Singer, composer and performer. She
has trained her voice and musical
skills in India, according to the
tradition of Dhurpad singing
and Kathak dance. Her present
work includes early and contemporary
music and collaborations with
several artists of international
repute like Terry Riley and David
Toop. Her own multimedia performance
Ashtayama-Song of Hours
has been presented in several
international festivals in Europe
and USA. Her
latest work is John Cages's Solo
58 (microtonal ragas from his
Song Books, 1970, in
co-production with several European
new music venues). Her music
is featured on various CD
productions. She
teaches Indian singing at the
Vicenza Conservatory in Italy
and at the Universität der Künste
in Berlin. |

Seth Josel

Soloist, chamber music partner,
ensemble player and improviser.
His instrumental versatility, as
well as his ability to adapt
rapidly to the ever-shifting
musical climate around him,
makes him one of the most sought
after guitarists in the New Art
Music arena. During the
three-year period 2002-05 he
premiered over 30 compositions
spanning various genres and
contexts. Soloist with the
Hilversum Radio Orchestra,
the Stuttgart Radio Symphony,
the Southwest German Radio
Orchestra and the
Ensemble musikFabrik; as
well, he was a guest performer
with several major European
ensembles and orchestras,
including KNM Berlin and
Ensemble SurPlus of
Freiburg as well as the DSO
Berlin under the direction
of Kent Nagano. Co-founder of
Catch quartet. A number of
recording projects are in the
works, including a portrait of
Gavin Bryars for Mode Records
(Release February 2007).
Peter Ablinger's magnus opus for
electric guitar - "33-127" - is
now in preparation on Mode
Records.

Carlos Sandoval —
(Mexico City, 1956).
Works in sound-design and sound
installations, improvisation
processes and live-electronics,
music-theater, written music and,
more specifically, the mix of all of
them. He creates music also with
living-trees connected world-wide
via internet using accelerometers.
Sandoval has been freelance composer
since 1989. He holds a B.A. in
composition in Mexico (National
School of Music, 1976-79). Graduate,
advanced studies in composition,
analysis and theory with J. Estrada
(ENM, 1985-90). He studied
piano-design and tuning in the
factory Bösendorfer in Vienna
(1980-82) Sandoval was Conlon
Nancarrow’s assistant in Mexico City
(1991-94). He was member of the
Mexican Sistema Nacional de
Creadores (1999-05). He lives
and works in Germany.

Mexico-City, 1951. Actor, visual
artist, stage-designer,
photographer. He studied drama with
Mascarones, in Mexico. Rooted
in the political theatre movements
in Mexico and the USA, Mario
performed in open-spaces and
on-stage in Mexico and USA. He lives
in Europe since 1988. Actor and
stage-designer in theatre and film
productions in Germany, France and
the Netherlands. He is autodidact
photographer since 1982. Founder of
the photographers’ association
Unicornio in Mexico. Exhibitions
and documentaries in Mexico, Germany
and the Netherlands. He is an active
member of the organizing body of the
Day of the Dead in Berlin
since 1990. Ongoing projects: The
Invisibles (Performance for
Carnival of Cultures 2007, Berlin),
Corazón de piedra y palo
(installation) and Bajo las Nubes

Junko Wada - To sing a Forest

After finishing her painting studies
at the Musahino University of
Arts in Tokyo she intensified
her interest in dance and started to
develop her quite personal dance
style. Soon later she replaced
canvas and brushes with a
performance stage. She developed her
first choreographies with sound
artist Akio Suzuki. Further
collaborations with Rolf Julius and
Hans Peter Kühn followed. She has
performed in all continents. Since
1999 she lives and works in Berlin.
She has performed at the Akademie
der Künste, Theater am
Hallessches Ufer, Neue
National Galerie, Adelaide
Festival, Asia Art Museum
among others. Recently she developed
performances with a large number of
artists, Process Vol.2 -
Reflection <Punkt und Linie Berlin>
at Haus der Kulturen der Welt
and other venues in Berlin.. |
